Scotland have released a 28-man squad list that will play the friendly match against Nigeria later this month in London as part of Nigeria’s preparation for the 2014 World Cup starting in June.

Among the players called up by Scotland coach Gordon Strachan are Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher, Allan McGregor of English FA Cup finalists Hull City, Steven Naismith of Everton, West Brom’s James Morrison as well as Wigan Athletic duo Shaun Maloney and James McArthur.

Watford City midfielder Ikechi Anya has also been called up to face Nigeria, whom he was eligible to play for as his father is a Nigerian. Anya was also eligible to play for Romania where his mother is from but opted to play for Scotland where he was born.

Anya earned his first cap for Scotland in a 2014 World Cup qualifying match as a substitute against Belgium, going on to earn four more caps. He has one goal in his five caps.

The friendly match will be played at Fulham’s Craven Cottage ground on May 28 with Scotland coming into the match unbeaten in their last five internationals, winning four of those.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will on their part play the match with the 30-man provisional World Cup squad named by coach Stephen Keshi last week and are also scheduled to face Greece on June 3 in their final warm-up game before the World Cup.
