Gospel artiste, and songwriter, Mike Abdul of the famed Midnight Crew has described the death of Kefee, Nigeria’s Branama queen as “a huge loss to Gospel music.”

Mike Abdul, currently CEO of Spaghetti Records said the late singer who died Friday, in the United States, will be greatly missed.

“Her sound and philosophy in Gospel music is different and will still stand the test of time. Her contribution to the Nigerian music industry is one to reckon with. Kefee will be missed,” said Abdul who spoke exclusively to TheNEWS online on Sunday.

He said: On behalf of Spaghetti Records and the Nigerian music industry, we pray she finds peace in The Lord.
Abdul, speaking on the success of Spaghetti Records as it marks its 2nd Anniversary, said it is founded on the ”desire to help give organization and structure to Gospel music and driven by a passion to make Gospel music and Gospel artists enviable.

”We started with MONIQUE, releasing her debut album, OBA GBOGBO AYE, which turned out a huge success followed by an international tour of The U.S and U.K in 2014.

”In 2012 we signed on 1st BON, who we introduced to the market with two great singles; JENIFA and MY MAMA. We perceive a great future for the music comedy artist and we cannot wait for the harvest.”

Abdul who insists he is still with the Midnight Crew, released a debut ‘Morire’, featuring Monique under his record label in 2013. The result has been “impressive”, he said.

“Running a record label with a Gospel consciousness is not easy but we have broken most barriers. The future is set and ours for the taking,” Abdul noted, revealing that work is currently in progress towards Monique’s second album and 1stBON’s debut album.
