President-General of the Nigeria Football Supporters Club Dr. Rafiu Ladipo has criticised the Super Eagles of Nigeria for failing to live up to expectations at the ongoing 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Dr. Ladipo stated his disappointment in the team missing the chance to make history and instead bowing out of the mundial from the second round stage, when it had the potential to go further.

In his words, ”crashing out in the second round is not good enough for me. We were there 16 years ago and attatining the same feat here is really no big deal. Keshi and his boys had the oppprtunity to make history but they blew it.”

The NFSC head also lamented the row between the players and the Nigeria Football Federation over bonuses, which he stated was not in the good interest of the nation.

It will be recalled that the Super Eagles skipped a training session in the days leading to the 2-0 defeat by France in Brasilia.
