Premier League club West Bromwich-Albion have completed the signing of Nigerian international striker Brown Ideye from Dynamo Kiev on a three-year deal for an undisclosed club record fee.

The deal, which cost West Brom in excess of £10m, will also see the midlands club have the option of giving Ideye a further year based on the striker’s performances after his first three years at the club.

Ideye joins the Baggies after a three-year spell at Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kiev where he made 107 appearances in three seasons and scored 45 goals, with 34 of those coming in the Ukrainian league.

The move will see Ideye link up with fellow Nigerian striker Victor Anichebe at the midlands club, having lost his starting place in Kiev to Dieumerci Mbokani and Dutch international Jeremain Lens by the end of the last Ukrainian league season.

Ideye will meet his new team-mates when they return from the club’s pre-season training camp in Sacramento, California according to a statement on the West Brom website.

Speaking of the deal, West Brom manager Alan Irvine said he is looking forward to working with the 25 year old whom he described as a quality striker that is ”strong, quick and has plenty of Champions League and international experience.”

Ideye was part of the Nigerian squad that won the Cup of African Nations in 2013 but failed to make coach Stephen Keshi’s squad to the 2014 World Cup where Nigeria reached the second round.
