Kano blast in pictures; at least four dead

A bomb that exploded in Nigeria’s ancient city of Kano at about 2:30pm Thursday, left no fewer than four persons dead at the New Road Luxury Park, Sabon Gari area.

Eye witnesses say the low-profile Improvised Explosive Device exploded when a Luxury bus marked Ifeanyi Chukwu Motors was off-loading passengers, according to P.M.NEWS correspondent.
The incident halted activities in the Park as both passengers, business owners and workers at the Park deserted the place.

“The Luxury bus just returned from Port Harcourt and was off-loading passengers when the blast occurred. No one can tell whether the bomb was planted inside the bus or the carts that were coming to take passenger’s loads.

“I may not be able to tell you the number of casualties, but I counted four dead bodies, while I saw many people with blood stain running for dear lives.”

The incident sent fear and panic within the Sabon Gari community as many people were seen closing their shops.
Security has since cordoned off the area, while the state Commissioner of Police, Adenrele Shinaba

072420141000who arrived the scene of the incident few minutes after the blast said it will be too hasty to say anything on the number of casualties.

Following the incident, two buses owned by Gobison Transport were destroyed in an inferno, while two buses marked Ezenwata Transport Limited and another owned by Chimezie Transport Limited were also burnt.
