UEFA has moved a Champions League qualifying match between Ukrainian club Dnipro and FC Copenhagen from the city of Dnipropetrovsk due to security concerns in eastern Ukraine.

The third qualifying round first leg match will now be played at Kiev’s Olympic Stadium on July 30, with UEFA also rescheduling the match from July 29 due to the change of venue.

FC Copenhagen’s managing director Anders Horsholt stated after the decision was made that ”We are satisfied that UEFA has listened to us and understood the many arguments that spoke against holding the game in Dnipropetrovsk.”

The decision by UEFA comes at the request of Danish club FC Copehagen, days after UEFA had declared Dnipropetrovsk and three other venues in Ukraine safe for Champions League and Europa League matches.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk already stated that it will play home games of its Champions League campaign in the western city of Lviv because Donetsk is under the control of pro-Russian separatist rebels.
