Some heavily armed policemen today raided some hotels  in Osogbo, capital of the State of Osun,  demanding from the hoteliers the identities of their lodgers.

The operation was carried out in the evening from 6 p.m upward. It was not clear who and what the policemen were looking for, hours to the 9 August governorship election in the state and amidst claims that they had been bribed to work for the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party.

As at the time of filing this report, the policemen were  still going from one hotel to the other.

In each hotel, the policemen frisked the rooms,  whether the guests were around or not.  They equally harassed both the staff and the management of the hotels they visited.

Among the hotels they visited was Hotel the Charity situated at Kobo area of the town.
