Thousands of supporters of President Goodluck Jonathan, under the canopy of Transformation Ambassador s of Nigeria, TAN,today defied the rain and the outbreak of Ebola disease in Port Harcourt to mass up at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt.

Speakers who included former  Governor of Rivers State,Dr Peter Odili,former Military Administrator of Akwa Ibom state,Idongesit Ikanga,who is also the Leader of South-South elders forum said they had gathered to persuade President Goodluck Jonathan, the son of the Zone to declare his interest in contesting for the 2015 Presidential election.

Dr Odili said the achievements of the President under the Transformation Agenda are legendary and above all is the convocation of the just concluded National Conference where far reaching decisions were agreed.

On his part,Nyesom Wike, the Minister of State for Education commended TAN for fixing the rally in Port Harcourt in Rivers state because if it was not done in the city,  the impression would have been that the state was not for the President.

He asked the President not to bother to campaign in Rivers because the state is for Jonathan all the way.

The political rally  was beamed live on television stations.

 Ifeanyi Uba, the Governorship candidate of Labour Party in Anambra state, who recently decamped to the PDP,  was one of the visible organizers who stormed the venue with  thousands of his supporters who displayed his posters with President Jonathan.

Mr. John Jonah,the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa state commended TAN for embracing the transformation agenda of Goodluck Jonathan.

So far, the TAN had staged similar rallies in Enugu, Ibadan and Kaduna.
