The woman who had a heart problem developed complications due  to infection of Ebola as the doctor who was treating Dr Enemuo and discovered that he had Ebola virus at Good Heart Hospital also treated the late woman.

The doctor is now under medical observation.

Dr. Sampson Parker, the Commissioner for Health in his update today in Port Harcourt  also said that the body of the late Dr. Enemuo has been interred according to the ” World Health Organization, WHO, standard”,but refused to say how and where the corpse was interred. But observers believe that the body may have  been cremated.

So far,the Ebola Rapid Response team working in collaboration with WHO, Federal Ministry of Health,Doctors Without Borders and other agencies have established contacts with 360 persons accounting for about 96 percent coverage.

Dr Parker explained these contacts are not necessarily infected.  They are under medical surveillance because of the suspicion that they may  have had primary or secondary contacts with the virus since Dr Enemuo died.

“They have different risk levels. Some may never fall ill.We only caution them to limit their movements until after the mandatory 22 days. Doctors are assigned to them to counsel and monitor them.”Parker said.

The state Government has commended the cooperation of Private companies like Anglo-Dutch Shell Petroleum Development Company, SPDC, Slumberger who donated Ambulances and others who are assisting with medical kits like sanitizers.
