Hernandez becomes Madrid’s fourth signing of the summer following James Rodriguez from AS Monaco, Toni Kroos from Bayern Munich and Costa Rican goalkeeper Keylor Navas from Levante.

Meanwhile at Atletico, Cerci penned a three-year deal with the reigning La Liga champions to end a two-year spell at Serie A Torino during which he scored 21 goals and assisted 19 more.

The 24-year old scored 14 goals in 28 Serie B matches for Palermo last season and has now signed a three-year deal with last season’s FA Cup finalists with the option of a further year afterwards.

Dutch midfielder Marco van Ginkel has joined AC Milan on a season-long loan from Chelsea, a day after Fernando Torres made the same move on a two-year loan deal.
