Papiss Cisse’s recent revival in front of goal continued as a goal in each half from the Senegalese striker helped struggling Newcastle United earn a 2-2 draw at Swansea City in a Premier League match today.

Elsewhere, Adam Lallana scored his first Liverpool goal as the Reds got a 2-1 win at home to West Brom while Sunderland beat Stoke City 3-1 for its first win of the seaaon and a 96th minute goal from Ross Wallace earned Burnley a 2-2 draw at Leicester City.

Newcastle had to come from behind twice at the Liberty Stadium, with Wilfried Bony putting Swansea ahead after 17 minutes after a one-two with Gylfi Sigurðsson put him through on goal to score his first of the season.

The Ivorian came close to making it 2-0 eight minutes to half-time when his half-volley was kept out by Tim Krul, a save which proved crucial as Cisse’s flicked effort against the run of two minutes before the break got Newcastle back on level terms.

It did not take long for Swansea to get back in front through Wayne Routledge five minutes into the second half, latching on to a through ball from Sigurðsson and chipping over Krul.

Bony was denied again by Krul soon after and again, the save proved crucial as Cisse equalised for Newcastle 15 minutes from time with a simple finish off a cross from substitute Sammy Ameobi.

Marvin Emnes shot straight at Krul with three minutes to go while Daryl Janmaat’s long range strike was saved by Lukasz Fabianski as both sides settled for a point apiece, a result that would left Newcastle the happier of the two sides.

Meanwhile at Anfield, Jordan Henderson was named man of the match after setting up Lallana for the first half opener before cancelling out Saido Berahino’s 51st minute equaliser to give Liverpool a 2-1 win over West Brom.

The win put the Reds in seventh place with 10 points from seven matches, behind Arsenal on goal difference while West Brom lies two points behind the Reds down in 13th place.

Elsewhere, Steven Fletcher scored twice as Sunderland overcame Stoke City 3-1 at the Stadium of Light while Mohamed Diamé and Nikica Jelavic were the scorers in a 2-0 win for Hull City at home to Crystal Palace.
