Enyimba of Aba took full advantage of league leaders Kano Pillars losing at title chasing Nasarawa United with a win at Kaduna as the Nigeria Premier League title race further opened up on Sunday.

Sokari Kingsley was the hero when he scored the crucial goal in the second half to give the Aba Elephants a 1-0 win at Kaduna United to keep Enyimba in third place with 54 points.

And with Kano Pillars as well as second place Warri Wolves losing by the same scoreline at Nasarawa United and Heartland respectively, the top four on the league table are now separated by only three points with four matches left in the season.

The Warri based club however remain second with 55 points while Nasarawa United is in fourth place with 53 points after beating the two-time league defending champions.

In other matches, Rangers compounded Crown FC’s relegation worries with a 3-0 win in Ibadan while Christian Pygbara scored all four goals to give Sharks 4-1 win over Sunshine Stars in Port-Harcourt.

Nembe City meanwhile was all but condemned to relegation from the top flight following a 3-0 loss at El-Kanemi Warriors while Bayelsa United got a 3-0 win over fellow strugglers FC Taraba in Benin.
