Former Vice President of Nigeria and a Presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has lashed out at the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP, saying they are good at propaganda.

The PDP, he said has failed the people, urging the people to fail the PDP too in the 2015 Presidential election by voting for the APC which is performing wonderfully at all the States governed by the party.

Atiku spoke today during a courtesy visit to the governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun at his office in Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

According to him, “PDP will talk on the television that they have done this and that, but they don’t do anything. But if you go to the APC States, honestly, you will see, you will feel the kind of transformation that goes on. They call themselves transformers while we call ourselves progressives, because transformation goes with progressiveness, but their own transformation goes with backwardness. I have said it over and over again, because I have visited APC and PDP States, if you go to Sokoto, Lagos, River, Zamfara, Kano, you will really, see, feel and touch, not what they tell you on the
television.

“When we were coming, they said they have reactivated railway and there is bush over the railway track between Ibadan and Abeokuta here, but they will tell you they have reactivated railway and railway is running, while it is not even running from Lagos to Ibadan, that is the kind of thing PDP are good at, propaganda,” Atiku said.

He also commended the giant strides of the governor in the development of the State, calling on the people of the State to continue to support him and give him another chance, so as to complete the work he has started.

“When I drove into Abeokuta today, I was impressed with all what I saw. It wasn’t long ago, just after you assumed office as the Governor, the kind of physical infrastructure that have come up in the State is phenomenal and unbelievable.

“I want to use this opportunity to commend your leadership. It is only fair that when such physical transformation is going on, it is only logical and reasonable that opportunity should be given to that kind of political leadership for that physical transformation to be continued.

“You see what has always affected our developmental strides in this country is that when we changed administrations and they could not continue what their predecessors have started , they begin a new project and new thing, nation building is a continuous process and therefore at a point in time, it requires continuity. It is only when continuity is achievable that we can see the kind of development that we need,” the APC Presidential aspirant argued.

The Turakin Adamawa also went memory lane when he said that his visit to Ogun State was a home coming, as he began his career as a Custom Officer at the border town of Idiroko here in Ogun State.

He recalled that his opportunity to meet his wife Titi, was during his working period in Ogun State. He said he will forever be grateful for the people.

He poured encomiums on his former boss, Olusegun Obasanjo for giving him the opportunity to serve at the highest level in 1999, when he chose him as his running mate.

“I am not a stranger in this State, I have traversed the length and breadth of this State, it was very peaceful, very calm, it was a wonderful experience. As far as I am concernd, to me, this place is home to me and the people of this State are brothers and sisters to me.

In his reaction, Governor Ibikunle Amosun thanked his visitor and his entourage for their love and concern about the State, adding that Atiku remains a giant politician, from whose wide experience, people like him and others, he described as ‘Eaglet Politicians’, still have a lot to gain from.

According to the governor, “There are many experienced politicians. I told him I am not a politician, we are Eaglet politicians, we are on the road of being a politician, but they are experienced politicians.”

On the Presidential ambition of the former Vice President, Amosun said: “I know with the quality and calibre of our elders that are presenting themselves to run the state of affairs of Nigeria, you will know that in APC stock, we have very dependable and very experienced people that are selflessly going to serve us. I have no doubt in my mind that he will be a good leader for us in Nigeria, he will run the country well, he is tested and trusted, he knows all the roads there,
he is not somebody that anyone can ask where and where has he served before with his experience and exposure. I think Nigeria can only benefit from his wonderful experience.”

Those in the entourage of the former Vice President include: Prof. Babalola Aborishade, Director-General, Atiku Campaign Organisation, Otunba Fasawe, Sen. Muhammed Ohiare, representing Kogi Central,Prof. Maxwell Gidado, Director, Legal, Atiku Campaign Organisation, Olanrewaju Fabiyi, National Cordinator, Atiku Campaign Organisation, Dr. Kayode Olunuga,
