Lewis Hamilton led from start to the chequered flag to claim his second grand prix win of the season in the Chinese GP on Sunday.

Hamilton finished ahead of Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg while Ferrari driver Sebastien Vettel took the final podium place ahead of teammate Kimi Räïkkönën.

The Chinese GP win for Hamilton sees his Championship lead extended to 13 points, with Vettel just holding on to second spot, three points ahead of Rosberg.

The race finished with the cars filing behind the safety car for the final two laps due to circuit officials failing to move Max Verstappen’s Toro Rosso car.

Verstappen had ran an impressive race in which he began outside the top 10, but overtook Sauber duo Ericsson and Nasr as well as Force India’s Sergio Perez into eighth position only to suffer a rear axle lock with three laps to go.

Former world champion Jenson Button also failed to finish the race along with Pastor Maldonado as both drivers ended on the wrong side of a dramatic duel.

The season moves to Bahrain for the next grand prix next weekend.
