Aminu Masari: campaign boosted by PDP defections

Eight serving PDP lawmakers in Katsina state and other prominent members of the party, have indicated interest to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of Saturday’s governorship and house of assembly elections.

Alhaji Alhaji Shitu Shu’aibu APC Publicity Secretary in the state said this in Katsina while briefing newsmen.

He said the party had concluded arrangements to receive the new members.

He said the decampees included the former deputy governor Alhaji Tukur Jikamshi, the former Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Alhji Nasidi Danladi and Amb. Sa’idu Daura.

Others included the former chairman of Mashi Local Government Area, Alhaji Hamisu Gyarta, Alhaji Aminu Jamo and Alhaji Haruna Dogo Namaraya.

Shu’aibu said that the `high profile’ decampees would be received by the President-Elect Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday.

He said that Buhari would be in Katsina on Thursday at the grand finale of the APC governorship campaign.

Alhaji Aminu Masari is the APC governorship candidate for April 11 polls.
