Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa seems to make good his threat to discipline party members accused of working against his administration.

There is a clear indication that he is poised to wield the big stick against powerful political opponents threatening his bid to come back as Governor in 2016 as Bayelsa State PDP Disciplinary Committee has re-invited six persons to appear before it to explain their roles in the last State House of Assembly elections conducted in the State.

The powerful politicians who failed to honour a previous invitation for the same purpose, include the senator representing Bayelsa Central, Senator Emmanuel Paulker, Senator Nimi Barigha-Amangi and the suspended State Chairman of the PDP, Retired Col. Sam Inokoba.

Others are former Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Werinipre Seibarugu, former Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nestor Binabo and presidential aide, Hon. Waripamowei Dudafa.

They are expected to appear before the committee at the PDP Secretariat, along DSP Alamieyeseigha Way, Ovom, Yenagoa by 10 O’clock in the morning on Monday, 25th of May, 2015.

A statement signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the PDP Disciplinary Committee, Hon. Cleopas Moses and Dede Ofulu John, states that, the panel is not out to witch hunt anybody, but it is rather intended to sanitize the party as well as ensure discipline and loyalty on the part of its rank and file.

According to the statement, having received reports about the persons concerned, it was only proper to get their own side of the story to ensure fairness and equity in the discharge of its assignment.
