Justice Marshall Umukoro

Uduaghan, who performed the ceremony in Asaba, charged Umukoro to discharge his duties with diligence in accordance to the law.

He regretted that inadequate funding of the judiciary was affecting dispensation of justice in the country.

The governor charged the judiciary to be committed and protect the rule of law in the discharge of its responsibilities.

Uduaghan, while congratulating Umukoro as the 7th Chief Judge of the state, expressed confidence in his ability to deliver and urged him to ensure the stability of the state.

Responding, Umukoro thanked God for making the appointment possible and appreciated the governor for the opportunity to serve.

The chief judge pledged to uphold justice in the course of discharging his duty.
He appealed to the state government to recruit judges not more than 45 years of age to support him in delivering quality services to the people.

Umukoro succeeds Justice Abiodun Smith who formerly held the office.
