Nigeria’s former National Security, Col. Sambo Dasuki was docked today in Abuja for illegal possession of firearms.

Dasuki is being represented at the Federal High Court by two senior advocates of Nigeria, Ahmed Raji and Joseph Daodu.

The former NSA was arraigned, a week after the DSS acting spokesman, Tony Opuiyo spelled out the plan of the agency after some firearms were discovered in Dasuki’s Asokoro home in Abuja, following a search on 16 July.

“The search operation led to the recovery of large cache of arms and ammunition among other things and for which further investigation was conducted.

Consequently, on Monday 24 August, 2015, he was charged to court based on evidence so far obtained, but which relates to possession of fire arms without license,” Opuiyo stated.
