Bindow: 35 advisers unwieldy

The Adamawa House of Assembly, in north east Nigeria,  on Wednesday approved the appointment of 35 Special Advisers for Gov. Bindow Jibrilla, certainly the largest for any incumbent governor in the country.

President Muhammadu Buhari in contrast will be appointing 15 special advisers.

The approval followed an executive letter to the assembly read at the plenary by the Speaker, Alhaji Kabiru Mijinyawa.

Malam Hassan Borguma (APC-Hong), moved the motion for the approval and was seconded by Mrs Justina Nkom (SDP-Lamorde).

The house also approved the appointment of Administrators for the 50 Development Areas in the state.

Also approved by the House was a request to take overdraft of N1.5 billion by the 21 local government areas of the state through the Ministry for Local Government to enable them augment their statutory allocation.
