Seattle Sounders forward, Obafemi Martins has arrived Abuja camp of Nigeria’s Super Eagles ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixture against Swaziland on Friday.
Martins who got a surprised called up to the senior national team from new coach Sunday Oliseh arrived the camp at exactly 6:30am Wednesday to join other players with the technical crew in preparation for Friday’s match.
Also in camp was Ogenyi Onazi, who came in around 11:12pm Tuesday.
Other players in camp are Captain Ahmed Musa, goalkeepers Carl Ikeme, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Dele Alampasu, defenders Efe Ambrose, Austin Oboroakpo, Chima Akas, Jamiu Alimi, Kalu Orji, Godfrey Oboabona, Wilfred Ndidi and Elderson Echiejile, midfielders Paul Onobi, John Mikel Obi, Sylvester Igbonu and Rabiu Ibrahim, and forwards Odion Ighalo, Ezekiel Bassey, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi and Moses Simon.
Meanwhile, Chief Coach, Oliseh has warned his team not to be complacent when they meet Swaziland on Friday. He warned that though Swaziland may not be a known name in African football, the team can spoil the show for Nigeria in their quest to qualify for the World Cup.
“We won’t underrate Swaziland on Friday. This same team stopped Guinea and they will be playing at home on artificial turf. That is why I told my players that we must approach this match with seriousness,” Oliseh said.
