Ifueko Omoigui-Okauru

Mrs. Ifueko Omoigui Okauru, former Federal Inland Revenue Service boss, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s edition of Women in successful Careers, WISCAR, annual graduation and induction ceremony.

Omoigui-Okauru will be speaking at the seventh edition of the event marking the graduation of WISCAR’s sixth stream of successful Mentees, and the induction of the seventh stream scheduled to hold on Saturday, 21 November at the Agip Recital Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

Speaking on the upcoming event; Mrs. Amina Oyagbola, founder of WISCAR and also Human Resources Executive of MTN, said this year’s event is themed “Women Leading Change” and coming on the heels of President Buhari’s leadership and his change mantra.
“We chose the theme “Women Leading Change” for this year’s event to highlight the importance of the contribution of women to the growth and development of the nation and ensure equal opportunity and empowerment of women for real development to occur in our country,” Oyagbola said.

She added that the panelists for the event have been carefully selected amongst women leading change in their various fields of endeavor consisting of: Prof. Remi Sonaiya, former presidential candidate; Lynda Saint–Nwafor, Chief Technical Officer, MTN Nigeria and Yewande Sadiku; Executive Director – Stanbic IBTC. “We look forward to learning from their experiences and insights and the event promises to be an inspiring afternoon of great learning, networking and a celebration of excellence and achievement,” she added.

In attendance will be CEOs of notable companies and corporations, senior corporate executives, ministers, legislators, ambassadors as well as WISCAR advisory board members, mentors/mentees, and other professional men and women.

A key highlight of the event will be the presentation of the distinguished WISCAR award to the deserving members.

Previous awardees include Justice Aloma Mukhtar, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria; Mrs. Ayo Obe, human right activist and Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili; former Vice President World Bank and Minister of Education and Solid Minerals.

WISCAR is a not-for-profit organisation set up to counsel, mentor and enable career women to realise their full potential and contribute meaningfully to organisations and the nation.

In the last seven years, it has mentored 129 young professional women who have gone through the intensive and unique twelve months structured WIN with WISCAR mentoring programme
