As the annual Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival, LAIF, celebrates ten years of creative excellence, industry big weights including Steve Babaeko, CEO X3M Marketing Ideas Limited;

The festival, which kicked off on Wednesday 18 November with the Young LAIFERs competition, a platform where young practitioners and budding creative talents showcase their creativity, will be followed by the LAIF Awards Seminar on 20 November.

Speaking on the festival programme, Chairman LAIF Managing Board, Ikechi Odigbo said the committee has done excellently well in planning this unique landmark of LAIF. “We are celebrating a decade of consistency and integrity and it is our delight that the creative industry is celebrated in this manner,” Odigbo stated.

The award dinner will be preceded by a pre-award party where staff of various agencies will congregate in a relaxed environment to celebrate a harvest of ideas. Founded in June 2006, LAIF is a brainchild of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) formerly known as Association of Advertising Practitioners of Nigeria (AAPN). The association is the umbrella body that coordinates and promotes the interest of Advertising Agencies in Nigeria.

LAIF was established in line with AAAN’s mission to regulate the practice of advertising among member-agencies with the aim of improving standards and encouraging symbiotic relationships among practitioners and other related bodies, in order to enhance the business environment and move the industry forward.

A LAIF Managing Board was also instituted after its maiden edition. The board was given a three-year mandate to oversee to the effective planning of the festival. Today, the board is headed by Ikechi Odigbo while Babaeko occupies the vice-chairman position.
