AIG Yabo advises Kano, Jigawa, Katsina set up security trust fund

The out-going Assistant Inspector of Police (AIG), Zone one, Mr Tambari Yabo, has advised Jigawa, Kano and Katsina state governments to establish Special Security Trust Fund.

Yabo made the call while handing over to the newly-appointed AIG for the zone, Mr Shuaibu Gambo, on Thursday in Kano.

He said the advice became necessary in order to enable companies and other corporate organisations to contribute their quota toward enhancing security in their respective states.

“I want to use this opportunity to advise the three states in the zone to emulate Lagos and other states by establishing the Special Security Trust Fund in their respective states,” he said.

He also called on the people of the three states to continue to partner with the police in their efforts to flush out criminals from of the areas.

He urged officers and men in the zone to continue to discharge their duties with utmost fear of God and in accordance with their professional training with a view to achieving the desired results.

Yabo also called on the officers and men to extend the support and cooperation they had given him to his successor.

In his remarks, the new AIG, Mr Shuaibu Gambo, called on the people in the zone to give him the necessary support and cooperation to enable him discharge his duties effectively.

Gambo was before his new appointment, the Commissioner of Police in Borno.
