Governor Dickson : leads in five out of six local councils

The Independent National Electoral Commission this morning resumed further declaration of the result of 5 December governorship election in Bayelsa state, with the release of Ogbia LGA result.

The result showed that the PDP candidate, Seriake Dickson again beat his APC opponent, winning 13,051 votes to Timipre Sylva’s 9,106 votes.

Registered voters in the local council of former Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan is 69,253; accredited voters: 24,532; votes cast: 23,358. The valid votes cast is 22,478 and rejected ballots ‎880.

The INEC officials went on a few hours break after declaring this result, when they came back, they declared Nembe result, which also showed Dickson winning.

He polled 10,768 votes, against that of Timipre Sylva of the ACN who polled 6, 974 votes.

With only the result for Southern Ijaw LGA awaited, Dickson has won six of the seven local councils declared so far. His total vote haul is now 105, 748. Sylva has 71,595 votes.

Fred Agbedi PDP State Agent asked for the cancellation of Ward 3,4 and Unit 12 Ward 5 . Election in this area didn’t hold including Ward 1 in Twin. He complained of violence,intimidation and physical attacks against PDP supporters
