It will be a merry Xmas in Ogun state,southwestern, Nigeria as Governor Ibikunle Amosun announced the payment of their December salaries and a bonus.
Government Secretary, Taiwo Adeoluwa said Amosun approved the payment of a 10 per cent bonus to the civil servants, including political office holders.
Adeoluwa said the payment of the December salary ahead of Christmas was a measure to ensure that civil servants in the state celebrate the yuletide without financial hassles.
“The payment of the December, 2015 salary and 10 percent bonus was effected not only for civil servants in the employ of the State government, but also local government employees and those in the judicial service commission as well as other agencies of government”, Adeoluwa said.
Amosun, had earlier promised to ensure the payment of workers salary in Ogun state before Christmas day.
Others at the press conference were the State Finance Commissioner, Mr. Wale Osinowo and his Information and Strategy counterpart, Otunba Dayo Adeneye.
