Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike said he is heading to the Supreme Court to challenge the nullification of his 11 April election by the Appeal Court, sitting in Abuja.

The election tribunal had earlier nullified the election, but Wike took his case to the Appeal court, where his hope was dashed once again.

Dakuku Peterside of the All Progressives Congress had challenged his election on grounds that it did not conform with electoral rules and was replete with a lot of malpractices.

In a 110-page ruling delivered today by Justice M.B. Dongban-Mensem,  the Court ruled that the election of Nyesom Wike did not conform with the electoral act.

The   panel of judges ordered a rerun in 90 days.
