CHAN 2016: Nigeria’s Home Eagles jet out to South Africa

Players and coaches of Nigeria’s Home Super Eagles left for Pretoria, South Africa on Saturday to continue their preparation ahead of Rwanda 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The team left Abuja where they had been camping since 14 December, 2015 as early as 7a.m Saturday for Lagos where they connected the flight to Pretoria for the final phase of their camping.

However, of the initial 26 players invited by Chief Coach Sunday Oliseh, three were dropped by the technical crew before the Pretoria trip.

Official Twitter handle of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed this report with a tweet: “Just In: @NGSuperEagles 23 for #2016CHAN. Team on its way to Pretoria. #SoarSuperEagles”

Three players dropped from the squad include Heartland FC goalie, David Obiazor, Julius Ubido and Gbolahan Salami of Warri Wolves who has been away from Abuja camp to facilitate his transfer abroad.

Players on the trip to South Africa are Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Femi Thomas, Okemute Odah, Austin Oboroakpo, Gbadebo Samson, Jamiu Alimi, Stephen Eze, Kalu Orji, Chima Akas, Chris Madaki, Etim Matthew, Usman Mohammed, Bature Yaro, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu, Ifeanyi Mathew, Paul Onobi, Ibrahim Salawau Attah, Osas Okoro, Ezekiel Bassey, Bright Onyedikachi, Chisom Chikatara, Prince Aggreh and Tunde Adeniji.
