The home-based Super Eagles of Nigeria have begun the second phase of their preparation for Rwanda 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Pretoria, South Africa.

The team, who will feature in CHAN, which kicks off on 16 January in Kigali, arrived the South African capital city Saturday with the plan was to train at a location that has the same high altitude as the one they will experience in Rwanda.

A tweet posted on the official tweeter handle of the Super Eagles revealed that the team and their coaches did not have the luxury of time to rest after their flight from Lagos down to Johannesburg before connecting Pretoria, but have to begin training on Sunday morning.

“Hard work begins in Pretoria. #SoarSuperEagles #2016CHAN”, the tweet read.

The tweeter handle also posted some photos of the training.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has come out to debunk the news in some sections of the media that the team are camping in Cape Town.

In a tweet on @thenff, the federation said: “Clarification: The Super Eagles B delegation to pre CHAN training camp is traveling to Pretoria, not Cape Town.”

The home Eagles will play two friendly matches against Angola and Ivory Coast while at Pretoria camp to fine tune their preparation for the CHAN, which is being played by players in the domestic leagues on the African continent.
