Reggae music superstar, Majek Fashek, has said that he was never taken to any rehabilitation centre as was speculated but rather went into seclusion.

The music star disclosed this Friday morning as a celebrity guest on Your View, a breakfast Talk Show on TVC News.

“It was wrong to say I was taken to a rehab. I only went into a seclusion for spiritual rebirth,” Majek told the lady quartet who interviewed him.

The famed guitarist said while it is true that he had some challenges but definitely not a drug-related one as being erroneously bandied in the media.

Majek had lived in the United States for some years before relocating to Nigeria. On his return home, the music star became a shadow of himself and always suspected to be high on substance. His actions at many public places allegedly embarrassed many of his friends and fans who decided to help him out.

Mid-2015, he was said to have been admitted into a rehabilitation centre in Abuja following suspected case of drug abuse. While in the centre, Majek was placed at the intensive care unit of the centre.

Speaking of what to expect from him musically, Majek said he’s working on some music that would challenge the dominant contemporary hip-hop music of today.
