A pro-President Muhammadu Buhari group, Buhari Vanguard, has warned the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to stop condemning the President’s political moves to stamp out corruption in Nigeria.
According to the group, any party, group or individual kicking against attempts by Buhari’s government to tackle corruption which, for several years has stood as a socio-economic monster militating against development , is unfair to Nigerians.
In a statement which was signed by its National Coordinator, Musa Aliyu, the group said PDP should allow the rule of law to prevail as all the suspects of looted public funds are presumed innocent until they are proved guilty by a competent court of law.
It noted that the fight against corruption by the present administration is transparent and devoid of political, ethnic and religious colouration, adding the fight is being executed in the interest of present and future generation of Nigerians.
“We categorically and unequivocally condemn in the strongest terms any move by the PDP or its agents to harass, intimidate or subvert the effort of the present administration in the fight against corruption by whipping political, ethnic and religious sentiments.” It also stated.
While noting that Nigerians are solidly behind President Muhammadu Buhari in his quest to fight corruption to a stand still and make Nigeria a viable and respected country in the comity of nations, the group promised to continue to sensitize Nigerians on the laudable policies of Buhari’s administration.
It however urged Nigerians to ignore and resist any attempt by any agent or group of agents to incite the public through ill- motivated, self centred and diabolical antics capable of truncating the progress chat .
