An 18-year old hi-pop musician, Ojo Joseph, arrested in Lagos State western Nigeria on Monday 18 January 2015 for illegal possession of what was suspected to be marijuana, has confessed that he gets more inspiration after smoking the weeds to compose his music and perform better .

Joseph confessed this at the Ejigbo Magistrate’s court, Lagos where he was arraigned for illegal possession of the weeds.

Akwa Ibom state born Joseph said he had released three albums since he started his music career three years ago and was able to achieve the feat after taking the substance.

The police at Area M Idimu command arrested Joseph at car wash bus stop in Idimu on stop and search operation.

When Joseph searched, he was found with the substance in his pockets. When the police asked what he was doing with the substance, he did not give satisfactory answers and he was taken to the station.

TheNEWS gathered, at the station, that Joseph confessed that he was not a dealer on hard drugs rather he uses the substance found on him to enhance his performance as an artiste.

Joseph was brought and charged to court on a two-count of attempting to commit felony and illegal possession of a substance suspected to be weeds.

When Joseph was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty. The presiding Magistrate, Mr A.A. Fashola granted him bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.

He was remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 8 February 2016.
