Miss Serena Williams has reached her seventh Australian Open final, despatching her fourth seeded opponent, Agnieszka Radwanska, 6-0, 6-4.
The 34 year old American, who dominated her friend, in the less than 70minute encounter, is bidding for her seventh title in Melbourne and her 22nd Grand Slam title overall. Serena is yet to drop a set in the tournament. She finished off her winning game with a string of aces that Radwanska could only watch fly past.
Serena who is the defending champion had won the title in 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2010.
Ever so humble in victory, Serena said: “It kind of blows my mind at the moment. I can’t believe I’m in the final. I didn’t think I’d do this well so soon.”
She now awaits her opponent in the final after the conclusion of the match between Angelique Kerber and Briton-Australian Johanna Konta.
“Whatever happens I’m very excited to be playing another Australian Open final”, Serena said after her match.
