Nigerian striker, Obafemi Martins, who plies his trade in the American Major League Soccer (MLS) has wished his teeming fans and admirers all over the world a prosperous new year with a promise to make 2016 a memorable one.

The Seattle Sounders forward, who tweeted around 2:13am early on 1 January, said: “Happy New Year everyone. Focusing on an even more memorable 2016!

There is no doubt that the new year will be a busy year for the Super Eagles star, who said that he is looking forward to be more clinical in front of goals and help his American club the more in 2016.

Immediately Martins’ tweet went viral on the social media, his fans in Nigeria and other parts of the world responded with various reactions.
