Gov. Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has  accused the All Progressives Congress for masterminding the alleged confession of  Dr. Temitope Aluko, a former secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state,  on how he was rigged into office in 2014.

Aluko in a widely publicised press interview alleged that former President Goodluck Jonathan gave Fayose $37million as war chest for the election. He said $2million was collected at the NNPC, while a former minister of state, Musiliu Obanikoro brought $35million cash. He also said Fayose, on the orders of Jonathan took command of the military in the area to rig the election.

But Fayose in a broadcast to the people of the state said the allegation by Aluko, that the military was used to influence the outcome of the June 21, 2014 governorship election in the state was “another ploy in the fruitless efforts by the All Progressives Congress to rubbish the mandate” freely given him by the people of the state.

He also said he did not appoint  Aluko his Chief of Staff because he could not be entrusted with such a sensitive position.

 In a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, the governor wondered why the party was still picking issues in the election after 20 months it was conducted.

 “All these steps are being taken by the APC to silence me because of my criticism of obnoxious policies of Buhari administration, but I cannot be silenced. If I Ayo Fayose remains the last man standing to put Buhari administration on its toes, I will not look back. Strong opposition is ingredient of ‎virile democracy. I don’t have skeleton in my cupboard. If the APC has any concrete evidence against me, it should give it to the EFCC.”

 ” It is very obvious that those who rented him will keep him at alms lenght believing that what he did to me, he will do same to them.”
