President Buhari: stepping out of a chopper

President Muhammed Buhari arrived the city of Ijebu ode at exactly 6.00pm on Monday amid tight security.

The old town was the President’s first port of call as he arrived to take part in the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the creation of  Ogun state. Buhari will commission Mobalufon Bridge and Sikiru Adetona Bridge built by the Ibikunle Amosun administration.

The entire city was agog as residents, party stalwarts,various groups,social and political groups gave  the President a very rousing welcome.

As the Presidential chopper landed at the Dipo Dina Stadium, along  with  three other choppers, Buhari moved into a waiting black  limousine which conveyed him and the state governor,Senator Ibikunle Amosun to the Awujale palace.

As at the time of filing this report,the President was at the palace of the Awujale where dignitaries from every part of the state were already seated waiting for him.

Security around the Awujale Palace was  beefed up as the two gates leading to the palace were shut.

Thorough screening of guests and press men  was  carried before they were allowed to enter the palace.

Among the dignitaries who received Buhari were  two past governors; Aremo Olusegun Osoba and his wife,Derin and Otunba Gbenga Daniel.

The three senators representing the state;Lanre Tejuoso, Gbolahan Dada and Buruj Kashamu were also there..

Others businessmen Mike Adenuga,Otunba Subomi Balogun, Oba Otudeko,Ladi Balogun and Chief Razaq Okoya

Also in attendance were  Olorunnibe Mamora, Olugbenga Kaka,Lekan Mustapha,Pastor Tunde Bakare,Revd. Jide Awosedo.

Traditional and religious leaders were  also on ground to welcome him.

All markets,shops within Ijebu Ode were shut, along the route leading to the palace.
