A senior Director in the Kaduna State Ministry of Finance, Alhaji Aminu Sambo was reportedly abducted at his farm under gun point by suspected kidnappers.

A source informed our correspondent that the kidnappers picked him up at his Kangimi farm, along Kaduna -Jos Road , on Saturday, but the story was concealed at that moment just to allow the family members possibly see how they can negotiate with the abductors.

The source, who spoke under plea of anonymity said immediately the family members were informed about Sambo’s kidnap, they have made frantic efforts to ensure that he was not killed while under the custody of the kidnappers.
“ We are very careful the way we handle this matter , so that in the end , we get him back alive.” He said .

On whether or not there was any ransom demanded from the family by the kidnappers, he said “yes, but we are begging them to keep him alive and release him unconditionally. “

Though he refused to disclose the amount demanded , he said the family will do everything possible to ensure his release from the abductors.

He however, urged the kidnappers to release him immediately. Meanwhile, he said the case has been reported to the security agencies, which according him are working round the clock to ensure that he is released.

But, when contacted today to confirm the kidnap case, Kaduna State Police Command spokesman, Abubakar Zubairu, said he was yet to be briefed. However, he promised to call the Divisional Police Officer of the area, where the alleged crime was carried out and will get back to me.”
