Super Eagles before training today

Sixteen invited players have reported to the Super Eagles camp, three days to the crucial tie in kaduna against Egypt.

Among those who arrived Monday  night were the attacking trio of  Portland Timbers’ Fanendo Adi, Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho and West Ham United’s Victor Moses.

The trio arrived alongside Wolverhampton’s Carl Ikeme at dinner time on Monday to swell the numbers of invited players to 16 ahead Friday’s 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier against the Pharaohs.

Earlier,  on Monday morning, the camp had received  John Mikel Obi, Alex Iwobi, Aminu Umar, Godfrey Oboabona, Kalu Orji, Odion Ighalo, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Aaron Samuel.

Others present at the Bolton White Apartments, Abuja are Etim Matthew, Etebo Ogenekaro, Ifeanyi Matthew and Chibuzor Okonkwo.

Expected to join the camp today, the deadline are Daniel Akpeyi, Stanley Amuzie, Elderson Echiejile, Ogenyi Onazi, Azubuike Okechukwu, Efe Ambrose, Abdullahi Shehu, Ahmed Musa and Moses Simon

After training on Tuesday morning at the National Stadium, Abuja, the Super Eagles will head to Kaduna, venue of Friday’s AFCON  2017 qualifier against the Pharaohs.

Nigeria will host Egypt for the first leg at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna on Friday, March 25 while the return leg will take place in Alexandria on March 29.

A win in Kaduna will brighten the Super Eagles’ qualification chances and will see them leapfrog the Pharaohs atop Group G log.

Egypt leads the pile of Group G with six points while Nigeria are second with four points from the same number of matches.
