Kano Pillars Football Club on Sunday beat visiting FC IfeanyiUbah 2-0 in a week nine match in the ongoing 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
The match was played at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano with Prince Aggrey scoring the opening goal in the 28th minute.
The game’s second goal was scored in the 48th minute by Suleiman Usman.
The visitors were close to scoring through Bright Onyedikachi who brilliantly beat Pillars goalkeeper David Obiozor and flicked the ball towards goal.
But Zaharadden Bello stopped them by swiftly clearing the ball from the goal area.
In his remarks after the match, Kano Pillars’ coach Baba Ganaru expressed satisfaction with the performance of his team.
He however acknowledged that the other team were also good, especially as they were well organised.
Also speaking to newsmen shortly after the game, Mitko Dubrev, FC IfeanyiUbah’s coach, described the match as a good game.
He attributed the inability of his team to win the game to the high number of new players in the team.
The coach, however, congratulated Kano Pillars for winning the match.
