Olubukola Abe: sacked

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode has sacked the Chairman, Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, Olubukola Abe nine months after he was appointed to head the unit.

The governor has appointed, Saidi Yinka Egbeyemi, a Superintendent of Police (SP) and a former Aide De Camp, ADC, to the Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun as the new Taskforce Chairman. He was the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Sango-Ota Police Station until his new appointment as new Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force.

Abe’s removal might not be unconnected with non-performance as under his leadership. One of the sins counted against him was the return of Okada riders in Lagos.

However, the new Taskforce Chairman, is an indigene of Owu in Abeokuta, Ogun State; he obtained B.Sc in Philosophy at the Ondo State University (now Ekiti State University) and also had a Masters Degree in International Relations and Strategic Studies at the Lagos State University (LASU). He did his NYSC at Ikono LGA, Akwa-Ibom State in 1999 to 2000.

Egbeyemi, between August 15, 2002 and February, 2004 was at Nigerian Police Academy (POLAC) where he was trained as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

Before he was deployed as the Divisional Police Officer, Sango-Otta Police Station, Egbeyemi was an Aide De Camp, ADC, to Governor Ibikunle Amosun and also served as Divisional Police Officer at different Police Stations across Lagos (Aguda, Surulere, State CID,Panti, Yaba), Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, PRO Lagos, Staff Officer to former IGP Mike Okiro and Area Crime Officer 1, Ogba, Lagos.

He equally did ad-hoc duties with the Joint Task Force at Potiskum, Yobe and Kano in 2012 and 2014 respectively.
