Wizkid: leader by over 250,000 followers

Wizkid whose real name is Ayo Balogun leads other Nigerian artistes on Twitter. As of today, he has over 2million followers. He joined Twitter which marked its 10th anniversary in 2009. He tweets at@wizkidayo

He is followed by Davido @Iam_Davido, who has 1.74 million followers. He joined in September 2010.

The don of music, DonJazzy, takes the bronze with 1.48million followers @donjazzy. He joined in 2009.

D’Banj @dbanj scored fourth with followers. As at today he has 1.45million people following him on the social platform.

Tiwa Savage, Queen of Pop breaks the male dominance and comes in 5th with 1.39million followers. Tiwa tweets @Tiwasavage.

Tu Face, the Baba of them all, is 6th . He has 1.36million followers cumulative since 2009.

He is followed by BankyW, (Banky Wellington), who has 1.3million followers @bankyW. Both Tu face and BankyW joined same year.

Peter Okoye of PSquare is eighth, with 1.06million followers. His brother Paul Nonso Okoye is lost in the crowd. He has just 494, 000 followers and he is not in reckoning among the top 10. Perhaps because he joined too late @rudeboypsquare, in 2011, two years after Peter found a niche at @peterpsquare.

At ninth is Olamide, Omo Abule Sowo, using his pepesneh name @Olamide_ybnl. The Bariga born artiste who has been a rave the past few years, has 815,000 followers.

And tenth is Omawumi who @omawumi commands 507,000 followers.
