Ogun Police arrest 3 trucks loaded with stolen petrol

 Police operatives attached to Ogijo Division under the Sagamu Area Command in Ogun  state have  arrested  three  trucks loaded with petrol suspected to have been siphoned  from NNPC pipeline by oil thieves.

The arrest,according to a statement by the State Police spokesman, DSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, was made at about 00:30 a.m on Monday.

The police operatives, who acted on a tip off, moved to the portion of the pipeline, where the thieves were siphoning the fuel. They fled the scene immediately they sighted the police and abandoned the three trucks.

“The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Ogijo Division, who led the operation, has personally  escorted the trucks to Abeokuta for safe keeping and proper investigation, as directed by the Commissioner of Police Ogun State, CP Abdulmajid Ali.

“The Commissioner of Police has commended the Divisional Police Officer and his men for the successful operation that led to the recovery of the trucks, and warned that anyone who is  involved in such criminal and deadly act in Ogun State will not be spared”, the statement reads in part.

The State Police boss,however assured the people and residents of the State of thorough investigation into the matter.
