Abductors of Ovie Igho Anthony,the National President of the Urhobo Progressive Union, UPU, youth wing are yet to make contact with his family, more than 24 hours after they captured him.

But in the meantime, the anti-kidnapping unit of the Delta state Police Command has begun work to trail them.

Igho was abducted by armed hoodlums on Friday night at about 8.30 pm by Sanubi junction along the Eku-Oria Road, Ethiope East council area of Delta State.

His abduction was confirmed by the President-General, Chief Joe Omene.

He said Igho was returning from an Urhobo youth meeting in Warri in company of three others when the gunmen struck.

According to him, “they were heading to Abraka from Warri when the hoodlums waylaid them and robbed them of their items before taking Mr. Igho into the bush.”

As at Saturday morning, the hoodlums were yet to make contact with the family or members of the UPU on the release of the victim.
