President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to, on Monday, inaugurate operational vehicles, tow trucks and ambulances for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) .

This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Bisi Kazeem, Head, Media Relations and Strategy, FRSC on Saturday in Abuja.

The statement quoted Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, the Corps Marshal, as saying the vehicles would be deployed to further renew the Corps’ determination to safer motoring environment across the country.

“The occasion will symbolise the sustained intention of the Federal Government to raise the bar on road safety management,’’it said.

It said the action was also in line with the Corps’ 2016 corporate strategic goals which seek to reduce road traffic crashes by 15 per cent and fatalities by 25 per cent.

Oyeyemi, according to NAN, said that the patrol vehicles and ambulances would be deployed along major corridors as part of measures to enhance road safety management and increase safety enforcement strategies.

Boboye thanked the president and the Federal Executive Council for remaining steadfast in their determination to ensure safer road use in the country through improved funding of road safety-related matters.
