LG boss advocates more support for APC-led government

The Executive Secretary of Ojo Local Government Area, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, Mr. Lawal Sikirulahi, has called on the residents of the council area to continue supporting the Akiwunmi Ambode led-administration, and his political party, the All Progressive Congress (APC). This is in order to benefit more of dividends of democracy.

The Executive Secretary made the call on Tuesday, during the official commissioning of Badagry division’s Data Capturing Centre, situated at his local government area, and commissioning of Usman Mogaji road in Jakande-Ajangbadi.

Lawal who commended Governor Ambode’s initiative on construction of two major roads in each of the 52 local government and local council development areas in the state, said the initiative would bring unprecedented development to the state.

Lawal described road as an important infrastructure in economic development and as a means of getting people together. He added that the newly commissioned road will ease the vehicular challenges being faced by the residents of the area.

He appealed to the residents of the area and other road users to always have in mind that the road was constructed by tax payer’s money, and ensure that we’ll usage.

Prior to the commissioning of the road, Mrs. Yetunde Onabolu, the Special Assistant to the governor on Urban Development, represented Governor Ambode at the event. She said the Center is part of Governor Ambode’s administration projects, aimed at ensuring that its citizens get employed.

She charged the unemployed youths and other residents of the area to make use of that Centre in getting themselves employed.

She stated that the Centre will be useful for employment exchange, guidiance and counseling: job information and exchange among others.
