Zone 5 AIG rallies new officers to fight crime

Eight recently promoted police officers of Zone 5 in Benin, Edo state, have been charged to re-dedicate themselves to the protection of lives and property, through effective crime prevention.

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Zone, Mr. Musa Daura, gave the charg on Friday while decorating the eight officers.

The promoted officers included Mr. Edward Ndudi and Dennis Eboh who were promoted from Deputy Superintendent of Police to Superintendent of Police (SP), while the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Emeka Ihenacho, A, Adefolalu, and Bright Ojiezele (Zonal legal officer) were promoted from Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).

Others promoted from ASP to DSP are Samson Ofuonye (Zonal Chaplain Catholic), Abdul-Rafee Sulieman Arai (Zonal Imam) and Godwin Obaweki.

The AIG asked the promoted officers to see their new‎ ranks as additional responsibilities in stemming the tide of crime in the Niger Delta region.

In his speech, the AIG commended the IGP and PSC for finding personnel of the zonal command worthy to benefit from the promotion exercise.

“I wish to congratulate the promoted officers in their new ranks and urge them to reciprocate the gesture, through dedicated to work, discipline, loyalty and commitment at all time,” he said.

Mr. Edward Ndudi, who responded on behalf of the promoted officers, expressed gratitude to the AIG, the IGP and the Police Service Commission for elevating them to the next rank in the Nigeria Police.

He assured that they would do their best in the service of the Nigeria Police and Nigerians in general.
