Kachikwu visits Gbaramatu Kingdom

Gbaramatu community is in shock. That was after Chief Godspower Gbenekama, the Ibe-benimowei of Gbaramatu kingdom narrowly escaped being kidnapped along Ovie Palace Road, Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area, Delta State at about 7:30pm yesterday. Sadly, his wife was not so lucky as she was taken to unknown destination by the unidentified gunmen.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the ugly incident occurred when the chief had finished receiving the Minister for Petroleum State, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu from Osubi airport. As he was driving home with his wife, the gang of kidnappers blocked them and wanted to kidnap him. That attempt, according to eye witnesses, failed as he “miraculously escaped”.

All efforts to reach the Chief has been abortive. He did not respond to calls or text messages.

But a source said, the Chief is safe but in rude shock. The kidnappers drove away with his car, phones and other things that were inside the vehicle.
