Andy Murray: lifts second Wimbledon trophy

World Number two, Andy Murray justified expectations by beating Canadian big server, Milos Raonic, to win his second Wimbledon trophy, three years after he won the first. Murray won 6-4 7-6 7-6.

Raonic, who despatched veteran Roger Federer home after five sets in the semi-final, was completely outclassed by Murray, who did not allow Raonic to get into the game, fending off occasional break points by Raonic. While Murray won the first tie break in the second set 7-3, he got the second tie break 7-2.

Murray won his first Grand Slam in the US Open in 2012 and came home to lift Wimbledon the following year.

Murray’s career has seen him play in 11 Grand Slam finals, winning three and losing eight. He lost three to Roger Federer and five to Novak Djokovic.
