Chisom Chikatara

Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, side Abia Warriors has debunked the claim made by Wydad Athletic Club of Casablanca on their website on Chisom Chikatara as baseless and untrue.

Abia Warriors insisted that Wydad have not concluded the transfer of Chikatara to Moroccan League, hence the player still remain an asset of the Warriors.

In a press statement on Thursday, Abia Warriors said that “our attention has been drawn to various publications on Wydad Athletic Club of Casablanca official website insinuating that their club have completed all transfer formalities of our player, Chisom Chikatara to Wydad Athletic Club and wish to state as follows:

(a) That player Chisom Chilatara remains a bonafide player of Abia Warriors FC, Umuahia.

(b) That as at the time of this publication, Wydad Athletic Club of Casablanca are yet to fulfill the transfer requirements of player Chisom Chikatara from Abia Warriors FC to Wydad.

(c) That whereas Wydad claimed on their website that the transfer money of Chisom Chikatara from our club to theirs “was successfully transferred after the club presented the certificate of transfer of the International Player”, the whole truth and nothing but the truth is that Abia Warriors FC, Umuahia have not received the purported transfer fee and has therefore presented no certificate of transfer to Wydad Athletic in respect of the player in question.

(d) We also wish to confirm that our player Chisom Chikatara has not received any flight ticket to Casablanca or any where for that matter from Wydad Board of Directors as claimed by the club’s website.

“We wish to state with all humility that the publications on Wydad website concerning player Chisom Chikatara is to say the least, untrue and very unfortunate.

“The Board of Abia Warriors FC therefore states unequivocally here that player Chisom Chikatara remains our property regardless of the baseless claims of Wydad Athletic Club of Casablanca until otherwise
stated by us.”
