Nigerian Army troops arrest 4 Boko Haram members, rescue 6 hostages

Following information provided by an arrested suspected Boko Haram terrorist, Lawan Abbai, Nigerian Army troops on Operation LAFIYA DOLE on Thursday morning carried out mine and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) clearance at Gombori which was along the troops main supply route.

According to Colonel Sani Usman, spokesperson of Nigerian Army, during the operation,  the troops located and recovered 2 heavy IEDs buried in the ground by suspected remnants of Boko Haram terrorists.

 

In the process of recovering the deadly IEDs, Colonel Usman said the troops also intercepted 4 fleeing suspected Boko Haram terrorists who claimed that they were on their way to surrender to troops.

 

He added that on preliminary investigation, they were identified as confirmed Boko Haram terrorist’s members planting IEDs along troop’s routes by their arrested colleague, Lawan Abbai.

 

The Army spokesperson also said the troops rescued 5 women and a baby from Boko  Haram terrorists at the same  area.
