National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Director in Rivers State,Rachael Shelleng, has raised alarm that cultists and illegal drug users in the state have improvised means of producing narcotics from human excreta.
Miss Shelleng Spoke during the visit of Assistant Commandant, Intelligence and Operations, Haruna Karaga during a security consultative meeting in Port Harcourt.
She said cultists are becoming desperate that they can smoke anything to enhance their performances to commit heinous crime in the society.
“We have identified Cultism as one of the social consequences of drug abuse. No sane person would say that he would rape his mother after the father died. You cannot imagine the youths would be desperate to get high on dry the human feaces and smoke it and go haywire.They smoke feaces because they want to do things thry cannot do ordinarily by themselves,” Shelleng said.
She however advised parents to be vigilant as regards their children and their wards.
It was learnt that some of the cultists are now drink human excreta mixed with local gin (ogogoro), disinfectants and gunpowder to enhance their performances.
